3.1.4.4.6. Check of elements of EES IV system

GENERAL INFORMATION

For check of elements of system it is necessary to disconnect the multicontact socket from the EES IV electronic actuation device, and then to execute the corresponding measurements on contacts of this socket.

In case of detection of malfunctions it is necessary to check first of all electric wires and their connections, and then to check the corresponding element.

CHECK AND IDLING ADJUSTMENT

Entry conditions

The engine should be heated-up to normal working temperature. For this purpose it is necessary to increase its number of turns to 2000 rpm and to wait for opening of the valve of the thermostat. It is not necessary to warm up the engine idling as at long work in these conditions the contents WITH in exhaust gases will differ from the contents WITH under usual service conditions of the car.

The air filter should be established, and its replaced element should not be too polluted.

The system of ignition should be in a good technical condition.

The additional air arriving through a leakage of connections should not get to inlet system of the engine, damaged vacuum the pipeline etc.

The final system of the engine should be tight.

Any of consumers of the electric power (a lamp of headlights, the fan engine, heating of back glass, etc.) should not be included.

Check of number of turns

The number of turns of idling in the engines equipped with EES IV system, is regulated by the EES IV electronic actuation device and possibility of manual regulation is absent. For the N9A type DOHC engine the number of turns of idling should make 875±25 rpm.

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. To connect the analyzer of exhaust gases.
2. To check the contents WITH idling which for the DOHC engine of the N9A type should make 1,0–1,5 %.
3. In case of need to adjust the contents WITH idling by means of a potentiometer of adjustment of the contents WITH.
