6.3.3. Check of level of oil in a transmission

GENERAL INFORMATION

Check of level of oil should be carried out directly after a car stop when oil is warmed up, after movement to normal working temperature (about 65 ° C).

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. To establish the car on a horizontal, equal and firm surface, to tighten the lever of the hand brake and to press a brake pedal.

2. At the engine idling three times consistently to establish the gear shifting lever in all provisions.

3. To establish the gear shifting lever in the situation "R" and to wait 1 minute.

4. In engine operating time idling to take the index of level of oil in a transmission, to wipe absolutely dry rag which is not leaving threads, to insert the index against the stop into an opening of a case and again to take. The trace from oil should be between "min" and "max" hyphens.

5. In case of need to add amount of oil, adding it through an opening of the index of level in a case.

Prevention

If level of oil is below the sign "min", it is necessary to check tightness of a radiator of oil and a transmission. Dark, and is even worse black, color of oil testifies to considerable wear of tapes of brakes or disks of couplings of an automatic transmission. It should be washed out or fined at service station.
