8.4. Removal and installation of a steering column

Removal

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. To establish car wheels in situation for driving forward.
2. To remove top and bottom a casing of a steering column, and also a covering under the forward panel at height of a steering column.
3. To disconnect sockets of electric wires from the universal switch.
4. To remove the universal switch and the lever of opening of a cowl.
5. To unscrew a bolt of fastening of a collar of a steering column.
6. To unscrew nuts (1) fastening of a collar of a steering column to the holder under the forward panel.
7. To unscrew a bolt of a tightening holder of a flange of the elastic hinge from a driving gear wheel of steering transfer.
8. To take knot of a steering column.

Installation

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. To check correctness of provision of the wheels established for advance.
2. To establish on the corresponding place a steering column, without tightening a nut of its fastening.
3. To adjust the provision of a steering column of rather forward panel, observing distance X = 5 mm between the forward panel and the top casing of a steering column.
4. To remove the top casing of a steering column.
5. To check observance of control distance (2) = 12 ± 1 mm and to tighten nuts of fastening of a collar of a column to the holder under the forward panel, a bolt of fastening of a collar of a steering column, and also a nut of the bottom bolt of fastening of a shaft of a steering wheel.
6. To establish the universal switch and to connect sockets of electric wires.
7. To establish the lever of opening of a cowl.
8. To establish top and bottom a casing of a steering column.
9. To check symmetry of provision of a steering wheel at installation of wheels for advance.
