3.1.4.10.3. Adjustment of the hand brake

GENERAL INFORMATION

Prevention

Adjustment of the hand brake is carried out after replacement of brake shoes of back brakes, cables of the hand brake or the lever of the hand brake in a body. In other cases performance of all actions on adjustment is forbidden.


PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. To check, whether the lever of the hand brake is released.
2. To establish the car on the lift so that back wheels hanged down freely.
3. To unblock a lock-nut of adjustment of a cable of the hand brake.
4. Completely to unscrew an adjusting nut and most to weaken a cable of the hand brake.
5. To check, whether move a cable and levers at supports without excessive resistance.
6. Gradually to pull a cable, tightening an adjusting nut before achievement of contact of tips of cables with levers of the hand brake on back supports. Levers should not move.
7. To check, whether levers on supports move when switching the lever of the hand brake from the first on the second tooth of a latch and to block a lock-nut an adjusting nut.
8. To lower the car.
